作品解説

取材地は旧嵯峨野御所大覚寺門跡、大覚寺の多宝塔です。源氏物語や空海ゆかりの地でもあります。画家が煮詰まった時などにはこの辺りを散歩し、この時に見た塔は何か希望のようなものだったそうです。木の後ろからわずかに覗く塔に存在感を感じるのは画家が感じた希望が伝わってきているからなのかもしれません。緑は生きていくことの心象の色と語った画家。見る人が自分の人生を振り返ったり、未来を夢みたり出来るようにと願いを込めて、決して現実的な色にならないように描いています。

The interview site is the ruins of the former Sagano Imperial Palace Daikakuji Temple Gate and the Taho Pagoda of Daikakuji Temple. It is also a place related to The Tale of Genji and Kukai. When the painter was exhausted, he took a walk around this area, and the tower he saw at this time was like a kind of hope. The presence of the tower, which peeks out slightly from behind the trees, may be because it conveys the hope that the painter felt. The painter said that green is the color of the mental image of life.
